2,000 Respond on World AIDS Day

2,000 Respond To Gospel At World AIDS Day Observance. In the recent World AIDS day in Wudu Southern Sudan the Kajo Keji County government observance saw a crowd of several thousand in attendance. We were able to provide the sound and video equipment for the day’s activities. The French NGO Sans Frontiers showed a video and put on an educational presentation about AIDS. Because of the persecution and isolation of the war years AIDS has not made the same devastating impact in Southern Sudan as in other East African countries. Now, everyone is concerned that this will rapidly change. Last year we distributed 20,000 pieces of AIDS awareness literature and we would like to double that this year. When the County’s activities were completed our team held a crusade meeting at which 2,000 peopled responded to the Gospel message and made decisions for Christ. This is the biggest one day response to the Gospel that we have seen in our eight years of working in Southern Sudan. In November 2,500 responded to the gospel through the efforts of our evangelism teams. This seems to be a time that God is moving so powerfully turning hearts to Himself that the most important thing we can do is not obstruct what He is doing. We just sent a church planting team to a predominately Moslem area north of Juba. The community there is very open to the message of Christ. In 2007 it is our prayer that we will make significant inroads among the Moslems. We now have teams in two different Moslem areas. Please join us in daily prayer for Moslem conversions in Southern SudanGary Short
